I need Oppo's advice. I've been looking for a project car since I have a garage now. My wife has amazingly been encouraging this but has a few conditions. It has to be a convertible because I already have a tin top, an '84 GLI being stored at my parent's house. I have been watching a 1980 Alfa Spider that is in the Bay Area and the price has just gone down. Does anyone have advice as to what to look for specifically in regards to Alfas and what might be major issues. I am going to contact the seller to see if I can go check it out Sunday or Monday. Thanks!

Judging by the ad, the seller doesn't appear smart enough to take a good photo, or post a coherent Craigslist ad.

Stay away. They're probably a Nigerian prince.

I'm not going to look at the ad but Petrolicious recommends an Alfa Spyder as a great starter classic car.

Thanks! I always liked Alfas and want to see if there really is something magical about them.

Well this Nigerian Prince has run several adds in the local online classifides and a reverse Google image search doesn't reveal other unscrupulous adds in different areas. I just hope it doesn't require being towed home and the interior isn't trashed. We shall see if I get more photos from the seller...hopefully a bit clearer too.
